A Report from Scotland

I'm back in Scotland after completing my time in Malawi (plus a few additional months). I really didn't want to leave and it was very difficult to physically pack boxes and bags and even worse to leave Margaret, Ken and Blessings.

While I'm definitely no longer in Malawi, my work in Malawi does not end here. I'm still hoping to look for 4 more link schools. I know I have to step back sometime but I'm not ready yet - maybe it's less for them and more for me, who knows?

I would like to thank you all for your help, encouragement and support throughout the past 15 months. I truly believe we made a small difference to peoples lives, and in some cases a massive difference. There were many occasions when the song 'One moment in time' struck me as poignant - particularly Joshua who is now in school thanks to you, the 'lightbulb' moments when the girls realised they could also play football, try woodcarving etc. The best moments were when the people just smile in disbelief that someone in a country so far away thinks about them - that was my magic moment.

During my time in Malawi I started preparing a school resource pack and it is now completed. It started as a hobby and then became a real passion so if any teachers or schools are interested there is information in the  "School Resources" section which you can access from the menu bar.

"Thanks for everything and I hope the people of Malawi have touched your lives in some way through my reports and photos. Your contributions most certainly touched their lives."
